LOLA + BLAKE want to ensure our practices and production has as little negative effect on our world.
Striving to grow our sustainability is at the core of LOLA + BLAKE’s principles as we continue to respect and safeguard our planet. There is always room for improvement.
Sustainable Facts about LOLA + BLAKE:
Our 100% ORGANIC cotton pyjamaS
Cotton is a breathable natural fibre which not only promotes a better night’s sleep but requires less washing #savewater
Cotton keeps you warm in winter and cool in summer – a seasonless fabric #buybetterbuyless
Cotton is hardwearing and lasts longer than a lot of man-made fibres plus our artisan craftsmen and women have made these pyjamas with care and attention, so they stand the test of time staying in our wardrobes, not landfill and allowing them to be passed down the family.
Factory and
Working environment:
We work with a SEDEX approved family run factory in New Delhi India which promotes fair working conditions, a high standard of pay and selects the highest skilled artisan craftsmen and women. They only work with a handful of select businesses, so we feel honoured to work in collaboration with them.
Sedex independently audit to ensure we work ethically, safely and within the law. They provide practical tools, services and a community network to help companies like us improve their responsible and sustainable business practices, and source responsibly.
Our Unisex prints and
design tweaks
The hand-illustrated prints are digitally printed onto the organic cotton. This method uses less water and has less ink waste than traditional block printing methods #sustainable
The prints are for boys and girls meaning they can more easily be handed down the family #buybetterbuyless
Our Jersey Pyjamas have a lovely stretch to them and fully lined cuffs which can be folded up or down, so they last for longer on little ones #buybetterbuyless
Our Baby Sleeping Bags have clever design tweaks such as poppers, so they are able to fit your child for longer and grow with your child 0-24 months.
Items such as our Quilts and Muslins are investment pieces which your child can grow up with and have multiple uses
Shipping and Postage
Where possible we use sea freight rather than air freight to reduce our carbon footprint
Our swing tags are paper, and we use grosgrain ribbon rather than plastic Kimble’s to attach them to the pyjamas meaning our products are entirely natural.
We post our items from a shared fulfilment centre which means space and energy efficiency are sustainably shared with other small businesses.
There is deliberately no plastic in our products. All items are sent out in 100% biodegradable postage bags or fully recyclable packaging.
